  Institutional Research

On June 8, 1925, South Texas State Normal College opened its doors for classes with 114 students....The first commencement exercise was held in May 1927 with EIGHT degrees being granted.....Fall of 2006 consisted of 6699 students....The Fall graduating class of 2006 consisted of 557 graduates.....Hispanic graduation rate went from 20.2% in Fall 1999 to 30.4% in Fall 2006.

SURVEY INFORMATION

CIRP

The Freshmen CIRP (Cooperative Institutional Research Program) Survey is a comprehensive survey designed by the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. It is administered to those freshmen enrolled in University Success courses in the Fall semesters.

 
CIRP Supplement

The CIRP Supplement is a marketing survey of those students who take the CIRP. It has interesting facts such as favorite television show and radio stations in addition to other information. It helps the institution to better utilize its marketing dollars.

 
Graduate
Graduating Students

The Graduating Student Survey goes to students who apply for graduation. There are two different instruments – one for undergraduates and one for graduates. They contain assessments of university services, offices, and activities. Additionally, these surveys contain many other interesting pieces of information including 1st generation college student information.

IPEDS

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for NCES, is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education. IPEDS is a single, comprehensive system designed to encompass all institutions and educational organizations whose primary purpose is to provide postsecondary education. The IPEDS system is built around a series of interrelated surveys to collect institution-level data in such areas as enrollments, program completions, faculty, staff, and finances.

 
NSSE Survey

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) asks undergraduates about how they spend their time, what they feel they've gained from classes, their assessment of the quality of their interactions with faculty and friends, and other important activities. The survey is administered each spring to random samples of first-year and senior students at four-year colleges and universities.

 
Student Support Services SCSA Concerns about availability, quality, student utilization of and satisfaction with student support services and facilities at the System Center in San Antonio prompted a student survey involving all students enrolled at the System Center during Summer I in 2004.

(Common Data Set)
The CDS contains standardized data about the University. It was developed to assist in the completion of external surveys such as Peterson's Guide, IPEDS, and US News, etc.....

Enrollment Summaries by College, Department and Major; Additional Summary Tables have been added for students with 2nd majors, first and second minors; Degrees Granted by College, Department and Major; Semester Credit Hours by College and Department; Six Year Graduation Rates by College; Freshman Retention by College, Department and Major.

 
Fact Book The University Fact Book is designed to provide a general overview of University statistics, programs, student demographics, and other information. The Fact Book is available as a Portable Document File (PDF).
 
Graduation Profiles

Each Graduation Profile contains points of interesting facts about Texas A&M University-Kingsville & Texas A&M University-System Center San Antonio's Graduating Classes.  The Profile is published before each graduation exercise.
